Jemima loves making things, especially clothes and trying different fabrics and colours and joining them with other materials to create an outfit. She is 7 years old and goes to The Croft School. Her favourite subject at school is art and craft (not reading or writing!), and one day when she grows up she hopes to be an artist, either painting or creating costumes.
She loves it when her mummy gets out the bag of material and she can make outfits for her dolls and teddies. This year, Jemima decided to enter to ACP Festival to showcase her amazing talents. Her piece, ‘Ocean Dream’, was inspired by the theme ‘Underwater’. She made her outfit by using organza hair “borrowed” from her Grandma’s material box, satsuma netting, shells that she had found on holiday and lycra. During the construction, she loved making the hair most of all.
“Great use of colours and materials.”
“Originality – she’s really thought about everything.”
